Kirahoshi Miel (キラ星ミエル?) / Cure Canelé (キュアカネレ?)

The lead cure of the series, Miel is a curious yet unlucky and slightly timid girl who, unlike her mother Ciel, has not got the ability to transform into a fairy. Due to this, Miel often feels like she shouldn't be a member of the Kirahoshi family. However, Miel is pretty curious and her mother often describes her to be like an "otter". Her Pretty Cure alter ego is Cure Canelé, having the theme of otters and canelés. Her theme colour is yellow. She represents curiously and hope while having powers that are similar to the stars.
Tohara Ichigo (兎原いちご?) / Cure Cheesecake (キュアチーズケーキ?)

Daughter of the famous patissiere, Tohara Ichika, Ichigo is a colourful and happy go lucky girl who is also Miel's best friend. Ichigo is often described to have the energetic nature of a "dolphin". However, she can have trouble getting along with others due to having a tsundere like nature. Her Pretty Cure alter ego is Cure Cheesecake, having the theme of dolphins and cheesecakes. Her theme colour is pink. She represents energy and happiness while having powers related to water.
Arisugawa Yumi (有栖川夕実?) / Cure Cerise (キュアスリーズ?)

Daughter of Sweets Scientist, Arisugawa Himari, Yumi is a rather popular and intellectual student known for getting high grades and for her intelligence. Despite this, Yumi is like a "sheep", having a gentle yet quiet and aloof nature who can also be rather sociable. Her Pretty Cure alter ego is Cure Cerise, having the themes of sheep and cherries. Her theme colour is orange. She represents intelligence and kindness while having powers related to light.
Kenjō Sumire (剣城すみれ?) / Cure Madeleine (キュアマドレーヌ?)
Voiced By: Sakura Ayane
The younger sister of the Kenjō Twins, Sumire is an elegant girl who tends to daydream and has a passion for both writing and reading. Despite this, she is often lonely and is the more reserved twin. Due to this, she can often be seen alone writing or reading in a tree and is often said to be "chipmunk-like" due to her reserved personality. Her Pretty Cure alter ego is Cure Madeleine, having the themes of chipmunks and madeleine cakes. Her theme colour is purple. She represents creativity and elegance while having powers related to flowers.
Kenjō Akari (剣城あかり?) / Cure Toffee (キュアトフィー?)

The older sister of the Kenjō Twins, Akari has a much more brighter and upbeat personality than Sumire and is tomboyish and sporty, being a member of the soccer and tennis teams. She does, however, have a weak body structure and asthma, having to use an inhaler throughout after practice. She is often considered to have a personality compatible with the nature of a "wolf" due to additionally being a loyal and fearless young lady. Her Pretty Cure alter ego is Cure Toffee, having the themes of wolves and toffee. Her theme colour is red. She represents loyalty and bravery while having powers related to fire.
Aomi Tsubasa (青美つばさ?) / Cure Sorbet (キュアソアベット?)

An aspiring singer and daughter of the famous rock artist, Tategami Aoi, Tsubasa is a fiery girl who can be aloof and distant whenever angered. She is often described to be as wild as a cheetah and has an extremely passionate nature with the addition to being rather to pretty much often gluttonous dependent on her mood. Her Pretty Cure alter ego is Cure Sorbet, having the themes of cheetahs and sorbets. Her theme colour is blue. She represents wild natures while having powers related to ice.

The main mascot of the series, Gororin is a sweet yet often sleepy fairy who commonly rolls around in her sleep. She is additionally drowsy and pretty much sleeps all the time.

The first antagonist to attack and the antagonist who triggers Cure Canelé's first transformation, Lemon is bitter and pretty foul mouthed, having an additional cold and aloof nature.
Ameruma (アメルマ?)
The main monsters of the series who are summoned with the phrase "Sweet to Sour! Ameruma, appear!" (酸っぱいへ甘い！ アメルマ、登場！?). The name is derived from "amer" which is French for both the adjective "sour" and verb "to bitter".

Kirahoshi Ciel (キラ星シエル?) / Kirarin (キラリン?)

A world famous patissiere running a restaurant with her twin brother, Ciel is Miel's mother. She, despite being busy most of the time, constantly worries about her daughter feeling like she shouldn't be part of the family and tries to brighten up her daughter using sweets.
Yoshida Ken (吉田健?)

Kuroki Rio (黒樹リオ?) / Pikario (ピカリオ?)

Miel's uncle and the twin brother of Ciel, Rio helps Ciel with their patisserie. Much like Ciel, he usually worries about his niece. He is also stubborn and can often get angry or frustrated rather easily.
