Nako Ise is a cure in Aether Essence Pretty Cure. She is a straightforward and strong willed girl. She enjoys working out, and is very fit.
Her alter ego is Cure Quake, the Pretty Cure of Earth.
Appearance[]
Nako is an average height, though she's a bit on the tall side. Her short, curly hair is a light brown, and she always has a strand sticking up. Her hair frames her face. She is blind, and her eyes are the color of her hair. She usually wears a black tank top with an orange hem, and orange sweatpants. She doesn't like wearing shoes or socks.
As Cure Quake, Nako's hair become longer and gains more volume. Her hair and eyes are slightly lighter, but are still the same color as each other. Her costume consists of a black leotard, with orange and white fabric folded over the top. The fabric is held by an orange and white pin, and she has black cuffs on her upper arm. She has a belt in the same colors as the fabric. Her leotard continues underneath down to her knees, and her orange skirt is layered over it. She wears black boots with orange toes, though her boots have no soles.
Personality[]
Nako is very straightforward, and almost never gets sarcasm. She likes to exercise and keep fit. She gets bored easily, and is irritable to a degree. She can seem very intimidating, and is somewhat distant.
Before the series started, she scared everyone away. She became aloof and distant because of this.
As the series goes on, she stops being so intimidating. She opens up more to her friends.

Cure Quake is the Pretty Cure alter ego of Nako. She embodies the element of Earth. She is quite sturdy, and specializes in facing enemies head on. She finds it hard to dodge, but she packs quite a punch. Her main attack is Earthen Magnitude, and her powerup attack is Earthen Fissure.
Etymology[]
Nako (なこ) doesn't mean anything, but spelled in kanji (奈子) it means child of Nara, a city in Japan.
Ise (伊勢) means energy, where i (伊) is meaningless.
Cure Quake: Quake refers to earthquake, which means a sudden and violent shaking of the ground, sometimes causing great destruction, as a result of movements within the earth's crust or volcanic action. This refers to her control over earth.
