Crystal🌟Gleam! Precure! : Shining Futures!

Plot[]

Momoiro Tanami, a 13 year old girl, is absolutely obsessed over collecting and studying gemstones, something she had gotten made fun of for when she was younger. However, despite that, she continues to do what she loves and helps others to do the same.

One day, while she was inspecting rocks just in case she found a gemstone, she encountered a Yakuni-Tai, attempting to harm Galena and Opalie, two fairies who were sent from their dying kingdom to find the Pretty Cures. Tanami stood before the Yakuni-Tai to protect the two fairies, and gained the ability to transform into a Pretty Cure.

Now Tanami and her friends must battle the wretched creations of Queen Onyx in order to protect the passions of everyone for a passionate future generation! Will they be able to succeed?!

Characters[]

Cures and Past Cures[]

  • Momoiro Tanami/Cure Spinel- The bubbly and energetic pink cure of the team. She loves collecting gemstones and making new friends. She encourages people to follow their dreams and do what they love, but she often forgets to consider her own thoughts and passions. She has an easy time making friends, but her eccentric personality could wear you out quite a bit.
  • Fukaina Kirano/Cure Sapphire- The level-headed and mature blue cure of the team. She is fascinated with the history of the world and reading. She is greatly respected as the president of the Student Council, but doesn’t think she deserves her praise, despite her accomplishments. She is very polite and organized, but isn’t afraid to let loose around her friends, especially in terms of her clumsiness.
  • Shizuki Yoko/Cure Topaz- The confident and sassy yellow cure of the team. She is enticed with fashion and modeling. She flaunts her beauty and talents to her piers, but doesn’t truly think too highly of herself in private. She encourages others to try their best when they seem to loose hope, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind out, either.
  • Kojuno Tamaneji/Cure Ruby- The passionate and fiery red cure of the team. She is great at sports, particularly basketball and volleyball. She is great at giving pep-talks to those who are unmotivated, but sometimes looses faith in herself if she messes something up. She makes sure people feel safe and protected when she’s around and shows no mercy to mean-spirited people.
  • Kotaku Yumiko/Cure Emerald- The snarky and Crafty green cure of the team. She is working on becoming a great actor and comedian. She helps people realize their talents, but fails to realize hers are just as special as anyone else’s. She isn’t afraid to criticize someone if they’re acting rudely or behaving like an idiot, and also gives others advice on how to improve their skills.
  • Hoseki Kuraiko/Cure Amethyst- The shy and reserved reformed purple cure of the team. She is great at drawing and painting. She was born from the bitter and evil intentions of Dysfunction and was created as her evil minion to destroy the cures and everyone’s passions. As Obsidian, she was a ruthless adversary who gave little regard to human life. After many battles and speeches, she managed to break free from her evil intentions and control. She was accepted into the team as a cure and as a friend. She regrets her past and all the trouble she caused, resulting in her being rather quiet and shy. However, she is very passionate about her talent and wants to come out of her shell to show others how to be the same way.
  • Past Cure Spinel- The original Cure Spinel who fought evil for Sparkler Kingdom thousands of years ago. She bore a striking resemblance to Tanami and is almost as eccentric and curious as she is. She was the leader of the original Crystal team, originally called the Crystallization Precure, and was known for her great leadership. Her and her team were responsible for protecting their kingdom from the original Yakuni-tai, but they were eventually defeated during a battle. She appeared during a vision to give the Cures advice for fighting together in a later episode.
  • Past Cure Sapphire- The original Cure Sapphire who fought evil for Sparkler Kingdom of years ago. She bore a striking resemblance to Kirano and was as calm and relaxed as she is. She was known for dishing out special attacks during battle.
  • Past Cure Topaz- The original Cure Topaz who fought evil for Sparkler Kingdom years ago. She bore a striking resemblance to Yoko and was as confident and assertive as she is. She was known for her strategies and battle plans.
  • Past Cure Ruby- The original Cure Ruby who fought evil for Sparkler Kingdom years ago. She bore a striking resemblance to Tamaneji and was as hot-headed and loud as she is. She was known for her physical attack moves during battle.
  • Past Cure Emerald- The original Cure Emerald who fought for evil for Sparkler Kingdom years ago. She bore a striking resemblance to Yumiko and was as reasonable and aware as she is. She was known for her incredible speeches that boosted the passion for her team to fight during battles.

Mascot(s)[]

  • Galena- A bat-like fairy who is the older sister of Opaline. She was the royal advisor of Sparkler kingdom before Queen Onyx’s attack. She takes full responsibility for the Precures and gives them solid advice. She is typically calm, cool, and collected, but can be quite hot-headed if provoked, however.
  • Opalie- A bunny rabbit-like fairy who is the younger sister of Galena. She is rather loud and energetic, which tends to annoy Galena in particular. She often has her head stuck in the clouds, but when she doesn’t, she’s trying out every new thing she comes across, much to the dismay of the team. During the finale of the series, when all hope seemed lost and destroyed, she was temporarily granted the power to become a precure, Cure Opal, in order to help her friends out.

Villains[]

  • Queen Onyx - The main villainess of the series. She was created from the insecurities, jealousy, and bitterness of the world and brought chaos to Sparkler Kingdom, resulting in the creation of the original Crystal Precure. She is set on crushing the dreams and passions everyone holds dear in order to destroy and conquer the planet.
  • Shungite - Onyx’s commander who gives orders and instructions to her army. He prepares everything that Queen Onyx requests and gives out commands to everyone on how to handle things. He also oversees the development of evil tactics and Yakuni-Tai orbs.
  • Jet - A sinister servant of Onyx. He is rather violent and merciless towards the Precure and starts chaos in the castle. He is very competitive and sour when he looses something.
  • Kyan - A sinister servant of Onyx. She threatens and mocks the Precure for trying to stop her and doesn’t care if she severely hurts someone. She is able to get whatever she wants and knows how to play her cards well.
  • Moonie - A sinister servant of Onyx. She belittles and yells at the Cures in an attempt to annoy them with her childish antics. She is a rather spoiled little girl who won’t do anything unless there is something in to for her at the end.
  • Obsidian - The initially ruthless and destructive creation of Onyx to oppose the Cures. She has incredibly strong combat and special attacking skills and showed no mercy in a battle. She underwent a long and complex redemption in order to reform as a villain and became Cure Amethyst.

Additional Characters[]

  • Queen Morganite - The queen of Sparkler Kingdom. She was known to rule over her subjects with compassion, understanding, and kindness. She made sure that the powers of the past precures were passed on to the new cures before sending Galena and Opalie to friend them as Queen Onyx attacked the kingdom with her army.

Items[]

  • Crysta Pact - The transformation item. To activate their transformations, the girls must say "Pretty Cure, Crystallization! Sparkle!” It is hung from somewhere on the girl’s civilian clothes.
  • Jewel Pen - A pen adorned with colorful gemstones the girls use to draw their cure outfits and accessories. It is kept inside the Crystal Pact.
  • Crystallizing Rod - A weapon used by the cures to perform their solo and group attacks.
  • Crystal Sword - A sword used by the Cures for special attacks and moves. It is normally summoned in dire situations.
  • Crysta Necklaces - Necklaces with a gemstone the color of the cure Tanami made for all of her friends for good luck and courage. She made another one for Hoseki when she joined the team.

Locations[]

  • Sparkler Kingdom - The kingdom of crystals and Gemstones Galena and Opaline come from.
  • Touraline City - The city the series takes place in. Tanami recently moved there to attend middle school.
  • Akashorai Academy - The private school the girls attend. Tanami transfers here when she moves to Touraline City. Kuraiko is also able to transfer here after her redemption.
  • Bleak Kingdom- The kingdom created by Queen Onyx after her rise to power.

Trivia[]

  • The series was originally known as “Crystallization♦Pretty Cure” before it was put for adoption by Hisaki Leilani in a post. It was later changed to its current title.
  • The Crystallizing Rod’s name is based on the original name of the series before its new ownership.
  • Before finding the original page , Sayuri Mitsuki was originally considering the name “Rockin! Gemstone Precure!” but she thought it sounded really dumb. The new name was actually improvised.
  • The civilian names of the cures were suggested by a user named @~ ForeverRoyale ~ on the precure fandom in a post introducing the main team.
  • Tanami’s last name, “Momoiro”, was constantly misspelled as “Momorio”. Hisaki Leilani thankfully corrected this mistake on a message board post.
  • Galena’s design closely resembles the design of Rouge the Bat from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. This was both intentional and non intentional.
